“The Flowers on the Stone Plateau” by Nhu Quynh Wins “Beautiful Story” Award

The photo submitted by author Như Quỳnh carries the message: “For those who are passionate about traveling, the land known as "where the stones bloom” - Ha Giang - is a must-visit. Besides the wild and majestic beauty of the mountains and forests, Ha Giang also possesses a poetic and lyrical charm. Traveling through Ha Giang, you will not only be amazed by the majestic scenery and winding roads but also be captivated by the innocent and pure beauty of the highland children. Somewhere on a trip to the Northeast, one cannot forget the children with their sparkling black eyes, rosy cheeks, and innocent, cheerful smiles echoing through the vast mountains and forests. This is what keeps visitors' feet and leaves them with fond memories long after they've left. There are no terraced rice paddies or villages in this photo; instead, it captures the image of Ha Giang children gleefully singing folk songs next to a basket of flowers, their charming smiles enough to captivate any heart.

Despite the many hardships of life here, nothing can suppress the children's innocent smiles and clear eyes. A gentle longing lingers in each of us as we experience the people and life here. Whether it's encountering the naive gaze of the mountain children or simply their endearing smiles, it's something that makes it hard for me to shake off my thoughts, which aren't quite sadness or sympathy, not joy, but rather a lingering feeling in my heart. Nature has favored Ha Giang with its captivating beauty, and the people here are equally captivating. So I can't help but exclaim, "Wow, Ha Giang is so beautiful!
