Miss Grand International 2021 revealed in her most recent live stream that she will not compete in any other beauty pageants in the future.
Miss Grand International 2021, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, recently announced during a live stream on her personal Instagram account that she will not compete in future beauty pageants. "Miss Grand International undoubtedly is the last pageant in which I compete," she remarked.
Thuy Tien has said this in various interviews before entering Miss Grand International 2021. However, rumors about her competing in another international beauty pageant appeared lately after she withdrew the title "Miss Grand International 2021" from her Instagram bio, which she then reinstated. Nawat Itsaragrisil, the chairman of Miss Grand International, unfollowed her on Instagram due to this behavior.
During the live stream, Thuy Tien admitted her mistake in removing the title from her bio while editing her Instagram profile. She believed that Instagram was her personal account and that many other beauty queens did not display their titles, so she did not anticipate the consequences of her actions.
Miss Grand International 2021 apologized to her fans, particularly Nawat, and wished to clear up any misconceptions with the MGI president.
"I want to have a clear conversation with Nawat to clear up any misunderstandings before sharing this story with everyone", she said.
Thuy Tien also acknowledged that the public speculation and comments about her situation were "way more serious" than what those who were involved in the situation thought, and she accepted the consequences of her mistake.
Pham Kim Dung, the president of Miss Grand Vietnam, also came during the livestream and remarked that Thuy Tien, despite her casual demeanor, has a tremendous affection and respect for Nawat and Teresa, the vice chairman of MGI. Dung had reminded Thuy Tien to text or phone Nawat, but Miss Grand International 2021 was concerned that the Miss Intercontinental president was too preoccupied with work.
Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was crowned Miss Grand International in December 2021. During her reign, the Vietnamese beauty queen was involved in a variety of commercial enterprises, as well as community events and humanitarian activities. She also got along well with Nawat, the president of MGI, and Teresa, the vice president of the pagaent.
This year, Vietnam will be the host country of this pagaent. It is expected that the finale night will take place on October 25, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City - one of the two largest cities of this country.
