“Xâm Hỏi Xẩm” (Asking About Xẩm), organized by the "EVS - Event Star" Student Group of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with the Students' Event Group (SEG), aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural values. The program seeks to spread the unique beauty of Xẩm chợ (marketplace Xẩm singing) to the younger generation. It creates a space for artists and youth to connect and explore the artistic value of traditional Xẩm singing, particularly the Xẩm chợ form.
At “Xâm Hỏi Xẩm”, you’ll have the chance to engage directly with experts and Xẩm artists who have played a vital role in preserving and promoting this unique art form. These include Meritorious Artist Xuan Dieu, Artist Hoang Ton, Artist Chau Anh, and Dr./Host/Editor Trinh Le Anh. Their participation promises a meaningful talk show, spreading a love for Xẩm art to a wider audience. Additionally, attendees can explore traditional instruments specific to Xẩm singing and Vietnamese folk music in general. Don’t miss this enriching cultural experience!
The program will also feature meticulously choreographed Xẩm performances that promise to captivate the audience. Moreover, attendees have the chance to win unique traditional gifts that highlight Vietnamese cultural identity.
Registration is open from November 22, 2024, to December 8, 2024. The “Xâm Hỏi Xẩm” talk show and art performances will take place from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Vietnamese Institute of Musicology (CC2 Building, Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi).
