As a prestigious international beauty pageant, it stands out as the ONLY competition in the WORLD that focuses on the United Nations' sustainable development goals while emphasizing global diplomacy and environmental protection. This pageant continues to solidify its status, as the winner is not just a beauty queen but also a leader across multiple fields worldwide.
Regina Angarita, Miss Planet Colombia, will compete in the sixth edition of this pageant in Cambodia—a country renowned for its magnificent temples, stunning architecture, and tropical forests. The competition was founded by Cambodian producer Halley Amin and is overseen by CEO Pedro Márquez Álvarez, a seasoned expert in the beauty industry who previously worked with the Miss Universe organization in 2007. He also leads the NGO "Ruyalar," which collaborates with the UNHCR on refugee projects in the Middle East.
Regina Angarita – Symbol of diploma and intelligence
Regina Angarita competed as Miss World Bogotá in 2023, where she impressed the judges by winning the titles of Miss Elegance, Miss Diplomacy, and Miss Executive. With a strong foundation, she continues her journey to expand Colombia's influence on the international stage, particularly in foreign investment and international business.
Academically, Angarita graduated with a Law degree from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia), specializing in Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. She has participated in significant legal cases at both national and international levels and has been a speaker at numerous conferences. She previously worked with Amnesty International Colombia, collaborated with Judge Ana Giacomette Ferrer, and contributed to various social projects with the Clooney Foundation for Justice. Angarita also supported the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in a food security campaign in Colombia
Beyond the legal field, Angarita is also a model under Group 4, a modeling agency in Colombia, and the author of 13 books. Notably, she wrote “Between Metal Soles”, an analysis of the modern feminist movement, and “The Universal Mulier Report”, supporting the #HeForShe and #TogetherBand campaigns by Global Goals. She also authored “The Mulier Project”, a 494-page work highlighting women who have made significant contributions to human history.
The arts and social activities
In addition to being a model and writer, Angarita has composed 37 musical pieces covering various themes. She continuously expands her knowledge by studying digital journalism and business at Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. She also hosted an event at the residence of Argentine Ambassador Gustavo Dzugala in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities, attended by notable figures such as actors Juan Pablo Raba and Mónica Fonseca.
In 2020, Angarita was nominated for the prestigious The Diana Award and was recognized by Elizabeth Dowdeswell for her social contributions. She has participated in various forums alongside influential figures such as Melinda Gates, Margaret Atwood, Wayne A. Frederick, and Phumzile Mlambo.
As a beauty queen, she supports Somos Más Foundation, founded by Catalina Mesa Ramírez, and took part in a fundraising event at the Metropolitan Club Bogotá. The event gathered key legal figures, including the President of the Supreme Court, the President of the Criminal Chamber, and senior judges, to aid underprivileged communities in Colombia.
Diplomatic and environmental ambassador
As the representative of Miss Planet Colombia, Angarita is not only focused on beauty pageant activities but also plays a diplomatic role. She actively promotes the export of emeralds—one of Colombia’s most valuable resources. Additionally, she maintains collaborations with various embassies and consulates, including those of India, Russia, Croatia, Ukraine, and Romania. Recently, she met with Russian Ambassador Nikolay K. Tavdumadze and Trade Attaché Alexander Vasilchikov to expand economic opportunities for Colombia.
One of Angarita’s top priorities is environmental protection. She is particularly dedicated to ocean conservation and advocating for the ratification of the Global Ocean Treaty. Her efforts have gained support from the Fifth Committee of the Colombian Senate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Environment.
It is undeniable that with her strong foundation in law, business, and diplomacy, along with her dedication to sustainable development goals, Regina Angarita is not just a beauty queen but also an outstanding Social Ambassador.
