Global Student Fashion Week (GSFW) is deemed to bring a fresh breeze of air, while also being a special remark for the global fashion industry. As the first ever fashion week for students from fashion-training institutes, not only will GSFW become a creative and exciting playground, it will also be where young talents freely express and affirm their own passion. Behind the event’s resounding success is the young and enthusiastic Organizing Committee with “overwhelming” profiles from renowned universities. Among them, the most outstanding name is Truong Cong Minh, the talented student from University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, who has contributed to creating an unforgettable remark at GSFW 2025.
From the Chemistry major to a translating star at GSFW 2025
Raised in the sunny and windy Central Region, Truong Cong Minh, MGI Magazine’s talented translator, has had an unexpected journey. The bold decision of taking a turn to the English Linguistics major opened a new chapter in Cong Minh’s life, for he originally majored in Chemistry at Le Khiet High School for the Gifted, Quang Ngai Province.
Despite his love for chemistry, he always felt like having an irresistible passion for languages. His logical thinking background obtained from learning chemistry has helped Minh scientifically analyze sentence structures, thereby producing precise and fluent translations. From just a translation collaborator, Minh quickly affirmed his talents and is currently taking the role of translation manager at MGI Magazine, responsible for translating all content on its media channels. Minh’s outstanding translation talent not only assures accuracy but also helps the message become more alive and accessible to international readers.
He also made a strong impression when being the interpreter for the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan at the 5th National Startup Summit. Minh’s excellent linguistic talents as well as immaculate writing have not only helped him excel in his work but also helped him connect with everybody across the world.
The jack of all trades
Not only a talented translator and interpreter, Truong Cong Minh is also a talented young man with admirable accomplishments, making him truly “the child next door”. From academic achievements – with a Gold medal at the national level Internet Olympic English (IOE) contest in 5th grade, a Bronze medal at the International Mathematics Contest (IMC) in 8th grade, an 8.0 in IELTS just in 11th grade, third prize in the semifinals of “Road to Mount Olympia”, founding the Le Khiet High School for the Gifted STEM Club, being in the Organizing Committee of seasons 4 and 5 of Training Chemistry Olympia (a competition simulating “Road to Mount Olympia” with all questions related to Chemistry), being the Vice President of ULIS English Translation and Interpreting Club for 2 consecutive years, and winning the Third prize at the Light Up 2024 English Public Speaking contest – to artistic and sports activities, Minh has left remarkable impressions in all of them.
Besides that, he also shone in these activities with winning the First prize of the school-level “Melodies of Youth” contest, being a member of the drama team in Le Khiet High School’s Coming of Age Ceremony, achieving the Bronze medal in Quang Ngai Province High School Basketball Contest, winning the First prize in the ULIS 2023 “Dance of Youth” Contest, the Gold medal of the ULIS football club SHU 2023 tournament, and the “Best Goalkeeper” award at the 2024-2025 ULIS Football Cup. What’s the secret behind Minh’s consistent success? That is his spirit of constantly learning and daring to challenge himself.
With the motto “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”, the former “Mount Olympia conqueror” is always ready to step out of his comfort zone to explore new things.

In addition to his role as a talented translator, Truong Cong Minh is also a key figure in connecting and inspiring the entire organizing team of GSFW 2025. With a strong sense of responsibility and enthusiasm, Minh is always ready to support his teammates, contributing to the creation of a united, creative, and effective working environment. The joy of accompanying the team and witnessing the collective achievements has become his greatest motivation to continuously strive and improve himself. Moreover, this young man sends a message to the youth, urging them to give their best and not shy away from any challenges, because only by testing themselves can they discover their passions and abilities.
