The comedian and author teamed up with Gold Bond to stay moisturized for her annual swimsuit ski run
"I have to be completely honest, I don't do my own packing," Chelsea Handler tells PEOPLE in her suite at Northern California's Palisades Tahoe, where she's preparing to attempt the Guinness World Record for the Largest Swimsuit Ski Run with Gold Bond.
Nevertheless, Handler, 50, whips out her clear, zip-up toiletry case to dish on all her travel beauty essentials. "I have about seven of these," she says of the packs. "I'm always ready."
The comedian continues, "The way I explain it to everyone I work with is, 'You know what I need, make it happen. I'm a creative, I don't have time to think about what I want to wear. You have to figure out what I'm going to wear.' And between all of the people that I have on my team, I know that's not very relatable, but my life is very busy."
Brian Walker for Gold Bond
Busy is an understatement — in 2024 alone, the New York Times best-selling author took 247 flights.
For Handler, an avid skier who says her "biggest ick" is dry skin, Gold Bond moisturizers are a must in her travel bag. "Before I get on a flight, I'm always hydrating and have my Gold Bond on me," she says.
As a long-standing tradition, Handler rings in her birthday each year by skiing in her bathing suit, and this year, she celebrated her milestone 50th with Gold Bond.
Brian Walker for Gold Bond
"Anyone who knows me knows how much I love skiing and they know how much I love skiing in my bathing suit. I am very obviously into moisturizer because of that," she says. "I've been using Gold Bond Healing Hydrating Lotion for a long time because I am all about not having dry skin."
Ahead are the beauty staples she swears by.
