British influencer Ashley Surcombe was found unresponsive in her overseas apartment this week. The 29-year-old is currently being treated in the ICU at a hospital in South Korea.

Per an Instagram post shared to Ashley's profile by her sister, Kat, the influencer — who has 464,000 followers on the app — was found "unconscious and unresponsive" in her Seoul residence on Monday, March 24. A GoFundMe for her medical costs specifies that she was hospitalized in the ICU with "severe dehydration and multiple organ damage."

"We don’t yet know the full extent of the damage, but we do know it’s serious," Kat, 33, explained on the fundraiser page. She continued to share that Ashley's health insurance expired recently, meaning the family is required to pay for her medical costs out-of-pocket.

Kat, 33, spoke to the U.K. publication The Times to further describe the state of her family's situation. "I go between crying and trying to help my parents out. It’s just really difficult because she’s my baby sister and I just want her home," she told the outlet.

The Times reported that Ashley had been living in Seoul for five years. Her parents last spoke to their daughter on Saturday, and she reportedly complained about feeling unwell and appearing both dehydrated and confused. Ashley did not respond to the family's calls the following evening, and after they attempted to reach her through friends and contacts in the South Korean city, they alerted the police.

Ashley had a black eye when the police gained entry to her apartment and found the social media star unconscious on her bathroom floor, per the British outlet.

On Friday, March 28, Kat updated the GoFundMe page with the family's first bit of optimistic news, as shared with them by Ashley's father, who flew to Seoul.

"She’s improving and will spend the rest of the week in ICU, [and] providing she continues to improve she’ll be moved to the general ward on Monday," Kat wrote, adding, "Ashley will continue to receive medical care but being in the general ward will allow my dad to live in the hospital with her and be her 24/7 carer."

The recent update stated that it could still be "another week or two before Ashley is well enough to be brought home."

Kat also listed Ashley's "estimated costs" on the GoFundMe, which included up to £1,500 per day for her stay in the ICU and £500 per day under general hospital care, once she became stable. Tests and scans, Kat surmised, could total at over £1,000, while Ashley's medication and treatment costs would be "ongoing and unpredictable."

Their parents have already put up £3,000 in a deposit, but Kat emphasized the uncertainty of the situation and the likelihood that her parents' contribution would dwindle quickly.

"My parents have recently retired, and as a family, we don’t have an abundance of money to cover these unexpected and overwhelming costs," wrote the content creator's concerned sister. "We have no idea how long Ashley will need care. Once she’s stable, we also need to arrange a flight to bring her back home to the UK, which could cost £1,000+."
