Phu Tho’s Hat Xoan: When a heritage sublimates in its natural form

At the grand finale, Tiffany Thuong Pham created a major surprise by choosing Hat Xoan of Phu Tho as her central source of inspiration. The image of the Xoan singer, a symbol of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage, was recreated with rustic beauty, purity, and a resilience that endures through time. This was an effort to move traditional beauty beyond surface aesthetics and into cultural depth, where human craftsmanship and collective memory converge.

 

The most distinctive highlight lay in her use of makeup products that she personally handcrafted from natural materials found in folk life. The base preserved the skin’s authentic texture, paired with eyes in earthy brown and classic soft pink tones. The lips were accentuated with a vivid gac red, symbolizing vitality and faith in prosperous harvests. This creative approach completely won over the judging panel and convincingly secured her the Fourth Runner-up title.
